This is a collection of antique clothing and accessories of over 300 items. Some pieces date back to the 17th century, though the majority of the collection is from the 19th and 20th centuries. This collection is fragile and kept off-site in a storage facility. Midge Neff-LeClair was a 2003 Inductee to the San Diego County Women's Hall of fame.
Ms Neff-LeClair has been nationally recognized for cultural and historical preservation with "Apparel Americana", a historical fashion show. Raised with both traditional notions of Women's place and her grandmother's Cherokee values, Neff-LeClaire's work has often been with those who are marginalized by, or omitted from, traditional education and services such as the elderly, new immigrants, minorities, the working poor and women.
The museum currently does not have space to permit viewing of the entire collection although an exhibit of selected clothing representative of the "Roaring Twenties" and the players involved in the last days of women's suffrage is planned for 2011.
