Old Town Exhibit

We are working on Phase II of the "Women in Old Town" Exhibit in the Machado y Silvas Adobe in Old Town State Historic Park. Phase II of the exhibit will focus on the lives of individual women who lived in Old Town during the establishment of early San Diego from 1821 to 1872. This project is in partnership with the Descendents of Old Town who are providing fascinating content material and archival photographs to the display. Our goal is to raise $3000 for the completion of this Phase. All donors over $100 will have their name added to the Donor Wall in the Adobe.

Birth of Women's Studies

In Sept of 1969 a small group of female college students and faculty in San Diego took on the establishment and made change in the world by creating the nation's first Women's Studies program at SDSU. This traveling exhibit demonstrates the impact these young "activists" were able to make through determination and perseverance. The story is a reflection of the youth and women's movement of the late 60s and early 70s. Our goal is to raise $3000 to complete the exhibit and to make it available to schools and libraries throughout San Diego County.

The Role of Women in American Military History

This exhibit is in 3 parts and in partnership with the San Diego Veteran's Museum in Balboa Park. One part of the exhibit will be installed in the Veteran's Museum in the Women in Military History Room; another part will be installed in a public entrance lobby at NTC Liberty Station and a third part will become a traveling exhibit made available to schools, libraries and organizations in San Diego County. Our goal is to raise $15,000 for this important exhibit.
