What is the event about?

Join the Women's Museum of California in celebrating and honoring 100 years of women serving in the Marine Corps.

With Special Guest, General Glenn M. Walters, Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps

In 1918, Opha Mae Johnson became the first female to enlist in the Marine Corps. Today, there are approximately 14,000 female Marines serving worldwide as pilots, communications professionals, combat engineers, infantry officers, lawyers, logisticians, and everything in between. The year 2018 marks the centennial of women in the Corps. Let's celebrate the accomplishments and honor the service of the fewer and the prouder!
