What is the event about?
Glamour, as we know it today, is a 20th century phenomenon.
Based in the Scottish word, glamer meaning “magic, enchantment, spell” we see the connection between the modern concept of being glamouous.
This exhibit will include over 100 glamorous women's compacts from the 1920s and 1930s from the Museum collection. In addition, original sketches of Edith Head and clothing of the era also from our collection.
Members and guests are invited to join us for the Private Opening of the new exhibit in the Museum Gallery on November 15 at 6pm.
