What is the event about?
Read Like A Girl - WMC Book Club is a book club created by the Women's Museum of California in San Diego, CA. The club reads one feminist book each month.
Discussion meetings take place every 3rd Friday at 5:30 PM at the Women's Museum of California.
Join us for snacks, new friends, and great discussions on our monthly book picks and feminism!
Due to the scheduled Black Kat performance at the Museum there will be no in-person club meeting this month. We will still be posting discussion questions for Night and Day and as always members are encouraged to share their own thoughts and questions about the book.
The book for June is Night and Day by Virginia Woolf. Virginia Woolf's delicate second novel is both a love story and a social comedy, yet it also subtly undermines these traditions, questioning a woman's role and the very nature of experience
Please feel free to post your thoughts, questions, and commentary while you read the book throughout the month of June in the Facebook group. Something to think about while you start reading the book Woolf said of the novel that she was interested in the effects of “the things one doesn’t say.” How does this affect the interactions of the characters?
